Business Grants for Employee Training
The purpose of the Business Grants for Employee Training Program is to provide resources for employers to train currently employed workers in an effort to keep businesses and workers competitive.
On-The-Job Training
Employers who find job seekers that may not have all of the experience or skill necessary to perform the job duties, but who could become job ready with additional training, may be able to receive financial assistance for training.

On-The-Job Training & Other Employer Services 

The Land of Lincoln Workforce Alliance is proud to offer free services to employers in the Illinois counties of Cass, Christian, Logan, Menard and Sangamon. LLWA works to build a strong workforce development system by planning, coordinating, collaborating, and aligning workforce initiatives with businesses, partners, and community stakeholders at the local, regional, and state level to ensure a skilled and productive workforce. Check out the links below to find out how we can assist your business with business grants, employee training, apprenticeships or On-The-Job Training (OJT). 

OJT? What's that?

OJT stands for On-The-Job Training. On-the-Job Training is a “hire-first” program. Eligible employers agree to hire, train, and retain the individual upon successful completion of the training program. Some quick facts about the program are:

  • Businesses may be reimbursed for up to 75% of the new employee’s wages and the extraordinary costs of the training
  • Workers have the opportunity to earn and learn
  • Hands on training in professional setting
  • Payment to employer to offset training costs
  • Opportunity to train employees your way
  • Investment and growth in your company
